CAREERS AT FLEET VETS

Build something special with us

Fleet Vets is a new independent, family-run veterinary practice in Fleet, Hampshire. We’re building a team of kind, capable people who care about doing a great job – for pets, their owners and each other.

If you’re looking for somewhere you can make a real contribution, and see the impact you’re having, we’d love to hear from you.

A different kind of veterinary practice.

Fleet Vets has been created with a simple aim – to provide excellent veterinary care in a friendly, personal environment where people have the time and support to do their best work.

As an independent practice, the decisions we make are made here, by people working within the practice. That means we can focus on what’s right for our patients, clients and team, rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach.

We want Fleet Vets to be somewhere people enjoy coming to work, feel comfortable sharing ideas, and have the opportunity to develop as the practice grows.

More than just a job

Joining a new practice is an opportunity to help shape it.

From the way we care for patients to the experience we create for their owners, every member of the Fleet Vets team will have an important part to play.

We’re looking for people who are compassionate, approachable and proud of what they do. In return, we want to create a workplace where you feel trusted, supported and part of something you’ve helped build.

Why join Fleet Vets?

Working with us means joining:

  • An independent, family-run veterinary practice
  • A friendly and supportive team
  • A practice focused on high standards of patient care
  • An environment where your ideas and experience are valued
  • A growing practice with opportunities to develop alongside it

MEET THE FOUNDER

A practice built around people, as well as pets

Fleet Vets was founded by veterinary surgeon James, fulfilling his lifelong ambition to open his own independent practice.

After years working in veterinary practice, including extensive experience in emergency and critical care, James wanted to create the kind of practice he would be proud to work in himself – somewhere with high clinical standards, a supportive team, and a genuinely personal approach.

Current vacancies

We’ll list our current opportunities below as the Fleet Vets team grows.

If you see a role that feels right for you, we’d love to hear from you. Send us your CV along with a little about yourself, your experience and what you’re looking for from your next role.

We’re on the lookout for an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse to help us get things right from day one — someone who wants more than a job on a rota, and is drawn to the challenge of shaping a clinic, its culture and its team from scratch. Our nurses will be at the centre of all we do, the beating heart of our operation, and we’ll be proud to utilise the full breadth of their extensive knowledge and skills.

This is a rare chance to move beyond the day-to-day of nursing and into a genuine leadership role: helping design how we work, having a real say in who joins the team as we grow, and setting the standard for the kind of care we want Fleet Vets to be known for.

What we can offer

  • £35,000–£40,000 per year, depending on experience
  • Full-time to start (5 days), moving to a 4-day week as the team expands
  • No out-of-hours shifts — just 1 in 3 Saturday mornings
  • 6 weeks’ holiday a year, bank holidays included
  • Healthshield cover plus a yearly Wellness Allowance
  • Genuine backing for further qualifications and ongoing development

Who we’re hoping to find

An RVN with solid experience under their belt, a real passion for patient welfare, and the people skills to match — someone who’s ready to step into a leadership role and enjoys the responsibility that comes with it. You’ll cover the full range of veterinary nursing duties while also taking ownership of clinical operations, and in time, leading a small, close-knit team. Strong organisation, sound judgement and clear communication matter here, as does a mindset that’s always looking to improve how things are done. Above all, we want someone supportive by nature — the kind of person who brings out the best in the people around them. In return, you’ll have real input into your own career path and a genuine seat at the leadership table.

A bit about Fleet Vets

We’re building a practice the community can rely on — one rooted in outstanding clinical care delivered in a calm, genuinely welcoming setting. Personalised treatment and lasting relationships with clients matter to us. We know how much pets mean to the people who love them, and every patient gets the same care and consideration we’d want for our own animals. Our clinic will be light, spacious and thoroughly modern, kitted out with everything a new practice needs — and then some. None of it means anything without the right team behind it, which is exactly why finding you matters so much.
